Conscious * ethical * charitable ...with these qualities in mind and action, Shanti Boutique is a fair trade business committed to producing unique jewelry, positive for people and planet.

Our aim is to bring shanti to you and everyone we work with, from manufacturing to the market.

Founded in 2004, our wholesale company sells unique silver jewelry, designed in the west and made in the east. The majority of our jewelry is original, designed by our designing team and we reserve rights to these designs.

Trading Fairly and Good Cause

We work directly with all of our manufacturers to ensure that workers are treated fairly and to ensure top quality of products.

A portion of our profits is donated to the Tibetan Children’s Education Foundation (TCEF), an organization dedicated to the preservation of Tibetan culture in exile. Crystal Water, founder of Shanti Boutique, also serves on the board of directors of TCEF and sponsors a Tibetan child and Tibetan elder. We are proud members of the Fair Trade Federation. The Fair Trade Federation is an association of fair trade wholesalers, retailers, and producers whose members are committed to providing fair wages and good employment opportunities to economically disadvantaged artisans and farmers worldwide.

We are also members of Green America Business Network. Green America is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to harnessing the economic power of consumers, investors and businesses to promote social justice and environmental sustainability.

Green Commitment

Shanti Boutique is committed to doing our part for the environment. This is achieved by following the basic principles of reduce, reuse and recycle in addition to carbon offsetting.

In our business practice, we first do our best at reduce use of resources by minimizing printing, use of electricity and heating, packaging (including final shipping dimensions to take up minimum space and weight in transport) and business travel necessary for business. Because of our central location, none of us drive to work.

Of course we use as much recycled office products as possible, recycle what we can and package the orders in recyclable packaging. Our main shipping is done through USPS. USPS priority packaging is certified by Cradle to Cradle. Cradle to Cradle Certification of Priority Mail and Express Mail packaging has established USPS and its suppliers as environmentally responsible leaders in product design.

Producers, Production & Products

All of our jewelry is sterling silver (92.5%) and most of our designs are handcrafted, making each piece a unique creation.

Combining years of experience in our own yoga studio store and a team of talented designers, Shanti Boutique jewelry is designed specifically for sale in yoga studio, lifestyle/mindstyle stores, new age stores, spiritual centers, spas and fair trade businesses. Whether your business is big or small, we would love to work with you. We provide everything you need to set up a jewelry section in your store or studio: original jewelry, cards to put them on, jewelry bags and displays and even free information booklets to give to your customers. If you have an online business we can also provide you with images of the products you purchase from us. Our goal is to make it easy and fun for you to carry original fair trade jewelry.

Our displays are made of bamboo, a renewable resource.

We chose to work with bamboo because aside from being a renewable resource and very durable, bamboo is versatile, good looking and feng shui. Bamboo is a unique sort of wood in that it flourishes in many climates from freezing to very hot and grows rapidly like a weed. To make our displays, our manufacturers in Vietnam start with raw bamboo, dry it and then form it into the final displays that we designed.

Our jewelry bags are made out of 100% silk, and are also made in Vietnam. We met Dung Nguyen by chance in 2001. She had just opened up a very small shop with bags. Just in her early 20's she opened this shop to provide work and income for her family. We were her first wholesale customer. Her business has grown a lot over the years, but continues to be very personal. We have a good connection and we know that all the money we pay to her goes straight to her extended family all of whom work in the business. We like to work so closely with our suppliers.

If you are a catalog company and need large quantities of specific items, we will be happy to meet your demand. Lead time may vary depending on quantity and item, but is generally 1 to 3 months.
